NP Thyroid® is an NDT drug that is designated by the FDA as a generic equivalent for Armour® Thyroid. Prescriptions written for Thyroid USP or generic NDT are typically filled with NP Thyroid®. NP Thyroid® is gluten-free. In the Spring of 2020, batches of NP Thyroid were found to have higher-than-specified amounts of T3, and 13 lots of the medication were voluntarily recalled due to this "super-potency" issue. Lots produced after May 2019 were not affected by this recall.
